MYC is kept free to access for youth thanks to:

Martensville Youth Connection

Community Collaboration

Martensville Youth Connection is a program dedicated to providing barrier-free mental health support to youth. MYC started at Clear-cut Coffee House in the Summer of 2021. We expanded into Forged Gym and quickly outgrew our space, so we are now mobile in the community.

Holistic Wellness

MYC will be in different venues in Martensville in the evenings between 3-8pm. Check our Facebook page daily to see where we are and what events and fundraisers we have going on.

  • Mondays – Northridge Centre - 3:00 pm-7:00 pm. Ages 12-16 Years old.

·

  • Tuesdays- PAWS Republic - 6:00-8:00 pm Ages 10-16 years old

·

  • Wednesdays – 3:30 pm-7:00pm Valley Manor School - Library Grade 6, 7, 8

·

  • Thursdays – MAP – The Multipurpose room. 3:00-7:00 pm Grade 9-12 Starting February 2, 9, 16 *****January, we will be supporting Seniors, follow us on Facebook or Instagram to know where we are on Thursday

  • Fridays – 3:30-7:00 pm Venture Heights School – gymnasium Grade 6, 7, 8.·  This will be a safe space for youth to meet and learn new life skills. We will also provide free access to healthy, nutritious snacks as a part of our holistic care philosophy.

The Program Material will be selected and overseen by a Social Worker and delivered by trained and qualified counsellors. The first hour from 3:30-4:30 pm, will include education and discussion on subjects such as positive self-image/self-esteem, triggers, self-harm, suicide intervention, mental health, and addictions and resources available in the community.

·  From 4:30-5:30 pm we will involve role-playing the new skills and small group discussion of how to implement the skills in daily life.

·  From 5:30-7:00 pm We will have planned activities, and time after classes for youth to reach out for additional support if needed.

Free Individual Counselling

  • Thanks to the Kinsmen Club of Martensville a Registered Social worker is available to provide one on one counselling for youth that don't have insurance coverage.
  • Contact Katie to inquire about accessing this counselling

Community Connections

  • Our staff will also complete recommendations or referrals to other agencies and resources as necessary, to further support the youths’ mental wellness and set them up for success. This could include: medical visit recommendations, mental health counselling, addiction treatment programs, or sports and athletic programs.
  • Leveraging our network in the business community, we will connect youth that show responsibility and readiness for the workforce with local businesses looking for student workers or volunteers.
