The future belongs to our youth let's empower them to succeed
The youth program is designed to take a harm reduction approach to teach youth aged 14-20 the tools to overcome, reduce harm, and prevent a range of mental illnesses and negative coping strategies.
Whether it is:
- Self Harm
- Substance misuse/addiction
- Distorted eating
- or any combination of them
This program is designed to give youth the tools to cope with life's challenges in a more positive way.
Uprooting a child's life to send them to a residential program can be traumatizing and very stigmatizing for them making it even more difficult to find a social groove in recovery. Outpatient treatment offers a level of discretion to remove that shame and stigma, and it also takes place over a period of time that is scientifically more beneficial for any person than a stand alone 28-45 day inpatient treatment program.
The duration of the program, 120 days, is developed around the chemistry of the brain as it heals from substance misuse. One reason for relapse after 28 day inpatient treatment is the chemistry of the human brain, around day 45-60 in healing from substance misuse is when the brain produces the least amount of dopamine and serotonin and one feels at their lowest. Recognizing this and having supports in place at this most vulnerable time while you move towards a chemical balance, is how and why an Intensive Outpatient Treatment program co successful.
Our program uses a combination of Evidence-Based practices such as: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Art Therapy (AT), Acceptace and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Trauma-Informed treatment.
The Youth Intensive Outpatient Addiction Treatment program consists of:

1 individual therapy sessions per week

Encouragement from a youth.
Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) has been proven to improve outcomes for patients in alcohol and drug treatment. A number of different medications are currently available to assist individuals with their withdrawal and recovery from alcohol and drug use. We follow the direction of the prescribing physician when building a case plan for youth MAT program.
NOTE: Possibilities Recovery Center does not prescribe or administer medication. Any and all medication used in conjunction with the program must be prescribed by a licensed physician and administered by their direction alone. Our program recognizes the benefits of medicine and we will work with you and your doctor through the recovery process.
Possibilities Recovery Center does however take aim to bridge the gap between the Physician, Pharmacy, and Support Programs for clients of our MAT program by coaching clients through the process of making appointments and other Life Skills required to live a relapse free recovery.

Matrix Model treatment program addresses the many factors that contribute to alcohol and substance use. The needs of the persons in care are considered in all of our individualized treatment plans for all levels of care and include the following:
Motivational Interviewing - is a style of therapy that is designed to respect people while helping them move toward making health related changes. This non-confrontational style of therapy creates a nurturing relationship in which people can thrive and successfully heal. This is a hallmark of all Matrix Model treatments.
Twelve Step Facilitation - Research findings show that involvement in Twelve-Step recovery activities improve treatment outcomes. This includes learning about Twelve-Step programs and attending Twelve-Step meetings. CLARE|MATRIX also encourages involvement in other spiritual approaches to recovery.
Family Involvement - The involvement and attitudes of family members and friends can significantly enhance the recovery process. Families are always strongly encouraged to participate in the Matrix treatment experience.
Contingency Management - Reinforcing positive behaviors during treatment has been shown to be highly effective in achieving a variety of substance use treatment goals. CLARE|MATRIX uses this principle in all of the treatment programs.
Continuing Care -People are offered continuing care groups following the intensive phase of treatment. Individuals who stay connected by attending the continuing care groups have a better chance of achieving long-term recovery.
